been advice to sealed DD (4.5) teeth, too early?

I have just been advise to sealed DD (4.5) teeth. I thought it was only on adult teeth (i.e. when the second molar begin to grow around 6/7) not baby teeth. I think the dentist just want my money, am I wrong?
Any research on how toxic it is?
Would you have it done?

would your lo not get free dental treatment though? If your lo has deep grooves in her molars then it may help her keep her teeth longer if she gets the sealant done.

does seem quite young. dd is 8 and yet to have hers done as she cannot keep her mouth open wide enough for the time it takes to paint and dry. Apparently it is crucial it doesn't get wet with saliva and she gags on the sucker.

We are not in the UK NHS does not apply we pay for our medicals and dentist.
I am worried there is not enough background it has only been in practice for 10 years. She does have deep groves in her molar but she only have milk teeth which are due to fall. There is no way she will stay put for a long period of time and she is also terrified of dentist.

Are there any good and specific reasons to get this done? It doesn't sound like a good idea at all, especially if she is terrified of the dentist - has she had a lot of treatment? But then I am always suspicious of dentists after money.

She has 2 very small cavities in the groove of 2 top molars. She hasn't have any treatment yet (starting next week). When scared she is not a wimp little thing, she fights back (takes 3 adults to give her shots)

Just FYI MAMAloco, they have been doing sealants for more than 25 years - and part of mine are still there - epxlains why I don´t have any fillings in my advanced years..?

My dd had her first teeth sealed when she was around 2.5, the dentist advised it because she has deep grooves in her teeth. Since we moved to Switzerland her current dentist laughs at our waste of money (then does her adult molars at an even greater cost). I didn't even think of researching whether there were any questions over the toxicity of the sealant. Bad mum.
