Hide them in a yoghurt or choccy mousse.

okaaayy - this one's a bit extreme but since a particular incident we've had no problems with medicine taking.

I took dd2 to hospital recently as she was hallicinating, had a high temp and was worried that she was dehydrating. I got told off by the nurse as she was 2 hours past a calpol dosing opportunity. (I had to wake her to take her to A&E)

We had spent the last 2 days pinning her down and pinching her nose to take medicine and we felt awful. The nurse suggested painkilling suppositories for her and gave her one. (which was quite a shock for her!) The nurse gave me a prescription for the suppositories and all I have to say if she says "No mummy, no medicine" is "I can give you your medicine in your mouth or your bottom, your choice". Funnily enough, she always opts for the mouth.

Oh, what a mean mum I am!

My 2 yr old DD has just finished a course of antibiotics however had it not been for her sticker reward chart I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have got it down her as it clearly had an unpleasant taste. Everytime she took a dose we gave her a smiley face sticker on her brave section of the chart, it really was a godsend! Got it from a website called encouragementandpraise.com or something like that

You can't get antibiotics in suppository form- God i wish you could! DS is SN and we have this a lot....I find 100ml of his milk (vanilla flavoured)hides the taste of most of them. You might find he'll drink strawberry milk or somesuch? Only go down this route if he's going to be willing to drink it and taste test it yourself first to make sure theres enough milk to mask it. Best of luck..

Oh and we have on occasion taken a bad tasting one back to GP and swapped for a different banana- flavoured one, easier to hide. GP understands getting one that gets into him is the main thing

put it in a little milk or ice cream, you can ask for a better tasting one
