My DS is 3 weeks old and has really red nappy rash. He's had it for at least 2 weeks now but today it seems worse. It's really red and sore looking in between, near his anus, and today his bum cheeks, like where he would lay, are really red.
Midwife last week told me to keep it dry as possible, which I know to do, but said she's seen worse. I was using bepanthen but it didn't seem to be working so I switched to sudocrem last week.
I change his nappy very often, as soon as it's wet or dirty, which seems to be all the time, and I let him have some air time when I can, but obviously theres only so much time you can do this with him pooping and weeing so often, and I have a 2 year old. I clean him well at each change, dry him with a muslin and then apply Sudocrem but the nappy rash doesn't seem to be going and it visibly hurts him when I clean him :-( I've also gone up to size 2 nappies so they're a little baggier for him for more air and I've changed to Tesco nappies today (was using Pampers but the netting type lining seemed to stick to his skin).
I dont know what else I can do, or what I can use? My DD never got nappy rash like this, but when she has gotten a bit red Sudocrem usually clears it up quickly.
Any ideas? Thank you x
