Tooth not growing in

I'd be grateful if anyone had any info.

My dd is 9 and a half. She lost her four front baby teeth long ago. Three adult teeth have grown in - there is still no sign of the tooth next to her right front tooth.

I am beginning to worry. The others have been there for ages. She was very late with her baby teeth coming through so I hoped this was just s delay but now I'm not sure.

We are going to the dentist soon obviously but just wondering if anyone had any knowledge on this. Thanks.

The dentist may feel around the gum to see if it is present or they may X-ray to see if it's there. It could just be delayed rather than absent

My 8 years olds side teeth to the front took a year to come through, was really worring and then boom there they was.
But of course if your worried see the dentist.

I had a tooth that was growing sideways. Dentist referred to orthodontist who x-rayed and I ended up needing an operation to move it to the right position and braces to bring it in line with the others. All perfectly fine now.

I would expect your dentist will X-ray if they have any concerns.

Mine was an incisor though, and I believe it's relatively common for them to 'get lost' as they start off higher up than other teeth.

Thanks for input everyone, have made appointment to get her checked but reassuring to hear some do come through randomly much later.
