Hi guys,

I'm new here and never posted so hello all!

Also a first time mum.

Just wondering what your experiences were with your babies after they've had their 8 week immunisations?

My LO had hers today and she's been crying! And she never cries :( I've given her a bit of calpol and she's finally calmed a little.

How long do they feel this way? It's breaking my heart!!

Mine did the weirdest cry the same night she had them totally different cry to normal. We were really worried I held her for about 3 hours and kept her calpol topped up by the next morning she was back to normal. It does say on the NHS website that they may do unusual cries

Hi, welcome!!!
Not long, 1-2 days. Just needs lots of cuddles.
You might notice a bit of redness where the injections were, might get hard and hot, all normal and ok.

Have a look on nhs choices website about post immunisation care and things to look out for, in fact make it your bible as it has tonnes of evidence based, NICE guided help and info on anything and everything that your baby will throw at you for the next 20 years health wise.
Good luck and I hope that you find mumsnet as helpful and entertaining as I have over the years Smile

Thank you guys :) you responded so fast. Lol.

It's bloody stressful this parenting malarkey :(

It's so hard when you don't know what they're feeling and they can't tell you.

Will definitely have a look on the NHS choices website.

creaser - it's positive to hear she was OK by the next morning!

jimijack - thank you for your advice :)

P.S I don't know how to tag Blush
