Hi mums netters i wanted to ask you a question about a child of one of my friends. The DC in question is 15 and 12.8 stone. I know that's big, and she gets really teased for it (even attempted suicide once) the mum is at breaking point about it so I said I'd ask on here to see if the mothers of the world had any opinions. The thing is that the child has servers knee problems (hence y mum is at breaking point) a lot of the time when she gets up she will dislocate. So she struggles to exercise, doctors are 'helping' by saying a diet and she has lost 1.7 stone since January. but have you any ideas how she might lose more, the DC is getting really depressed about her weight and her condition any help will be great!

Is that the child ?

Is she permanently wheelchair bound ?

Swimming? Obviously depending on mobility. Wearing a T-shirt and shorts if she feels 'on show'.

If you mean Severs disease that affects the ankles and does not cause dislocations

If that is the girl in question, you may have cut off most of her face but she is still recognisable. Did you get her informed consent to put that pic on here ?

That is the child and is I'd say 90% of the time wheelchair bound. Bless I did have permission for the photo but I didn't realise how much of face I put on I don't know how to change. And no it's not severs disease

Agree with AnyFucker
You need informed consent before placing a photo of a juvenile on the net

Maybe some more water based aerobics/ hydrotherapy so as not to put too much pressure on her joints?

In that photo she appears to have one leg ; is that just the photo as otherwise suggestions for exercise need to be tailored. Btw wheelchair user is preferable to wheelchair bound.

You don't have to be permanently in a wheelchair to ply wheelchair sports. Since the increase in popularity from the paralympics I'd be more hopeful you could find a local team.

My DH used to go with his friend and play wheelchair basketball, it is bloody hard work and lots of exercise.
