DD with severe shoulder pain. Can anyone offer advice please?

DD (9) has had severe pain in her shoulder for over 3 weeks now. She has had an x-ray and blood tests which were clear. She is being referred to a specialist but in the meantime I have had no advice on how to help her. My brother (a dr) said not to make her move it until we find out what is wrong. He's away just now or I'd ask him for advice. She can't lift her arm above her head and it is painful to lift it just a small amount. She has pain going down her arm and is in pain when she bends her elbow. just wonder if anyone has any experience of this or can give me an idea of what it might be. She fell on the ball of her shoulder in the summer and was sore for a week but she recovered fully from it and has never complained of pain until now. I have poked it gently when she's been sleeping and she pulls away and moans.

Is it warm or swollen at all?

Infection of the joint maybe?

Thanks for answering. Not swollen or warm. They took blood to rule out infection. She said it is worse today and has pain in her neck now too.

How do they test for juvenile arthritis?
