Constipation in 15 month old

He has had it on and off since we started weaning... It's mainly pain before going, painful to pass and then his bottom is sore afterwards. It varies in degree of severity and he will sometimes have a little blood after passing stool.

We've been to GP's several times (and seen various GP's) we've tried Lactulose to no avail and Movicol (which helped quite a bit but now the course is finished we're back to square one)

He eats a varied diet, drinks enough water, has about 300mls per day of milk plus yoghurt and cereal with milk.

Any ideas?

I am back to work soon so he'll be going to childcare.

My daughter suffers terribly, we give her fresh apple juice instead of water. A fresh fig mashed into her weetabix. It seems to be helping x

I would go back to doctors and get him on a longer term course of movicol if it works. My ds has been on movicol for 20 months now and is likely to have it all his life so no long term effects.
