Hiya
My 10 week old was prescribed Ranitidine for silent reflux. The doc said 3 times a day at 0.6ml. I'm not sure how he's worked this out, any ideas?
My baby weighs 12lb - 5.5kg. I would of worked this out by 5.5 x 3 / 150 x 10 = 1.1ml 3 times a day. The solution is 150mg in 10ml.
I know they can have up to 3mg per kg so even if he had 2mg per kg the dosage would be 0.7mls per day?
Any help on this would be greatly received. I've been to the GP three times now to check dosage, first time she said oh it's too hard to work out so just give him 1ml twice a day, I wasn't happy with this so saw another GP who said yep that's right, you can't have 0. of a ml cos it's too small which is rubbish! 3rd GP then said oh he should be having it 3 times a day and his dosage would be 0.6ml! I mean, what the hell is going on here? Seams like no one has a clue!!
Anyway, thanks for reading
Nicola
