I've had to convince my 3yo DD to take this recently. She loves dried fruit so initially I gave her a tiny piece of apricot or a raisin for each sip. This seemed to work but was slow so I moved on to Humzingers. She chooses a flavour then downs the Movicol before I give it to her. She loves them - she asks to her 'medicine' now and the dried fruit helps with the constipation.

What are you putting it in? Milk worked well for ds, the frothiness was 'milkshake'

I put cool boiled water in it.

I use squash - and did resort to buying DS a character drinks bottle to drink it from - a small price to pay Grin

Whatever it takes :)

Something fun (stickers) or healthy if that's enough 'currency' - if not chocolate buttons/sweets.

If they need it, they need it and if you can't get it down them just by telling them they need it or healthy incentives then an 'unhealthy' one it will have to be. It's fine.

It works really well and we didn't have to bribe, just said he needed to drink it, but I would have if we'd needed to. No problem certainly do for lesser reasons!!

Every day thismouse?

We are meant to be cutting down milk alas because doc thinks it is contributing to the constipation.

A very small amount of milkshake can hide it, have you tried milk alternatives?
If not then hide it in juice, small amount to get the dosage in quick, tastes nasty but is over and done with.
Or lots of juice in a bottle you can shake it up in and drink during the whole day to get it in.
Don't say it's movicol, just juice/shake if its not a big deal then less drama and will get used to it quicker.
I work in a school and all the above methods have worked!

It is minging. Have you tried it yourself mixed in different drinks? I experimented and orange froot shoot seemed the most palatable to me, and dd accepted it. We got into a routine of drinking her 'medicine' in front of a short tv show/whilst reading a favourite book, and she got a snack afterwards.

Mine has it in Apple juice every morning no problem and he's usually a major fusspot!

We tried it in squash but DS wouldn't take it (I tried it and I don't blame him - still tasted awful). We ended up putting it in his first beaker of milk of the day and not telling him it was in there. Hope you find something that works well for you.
