Measles/chicken pox without feeling unwell?

DD has erupted in a rash over her torso this morning, she was fine last night in bath. It looks like raised red pimples mainly around the back of her neck where her hair falls but they are also all over her lower back and tummy but less red. It is blanching.

She hasn't complained of feeling unwell at all and no itching. She has had her 13 month mmr jab and is due her pre-school booster this summer.

Is it possible it's measles or chicken pox??

My 2 dc have had this for several days too, no idea what it is.

DS 5 has something similar too. Just came up today and OOH seem to think it's hives. Have to give piriton and if no improvement in a couple of hours we've to phone back.
DH is now trailing the supermarkets trying to find piriton!

Sounds like CP. DS was completely well with it. Plastered but happy usual 2yo energetic self. 2 weeks later, as a little baby, DD had CP & was no worse than a bit tetchy. I suspect some strains are very mild.

Fingers crossed for CP, neither dc has had it yet but could do with a mild dose (very busy week). Typical.

Not sure what she could be allergic to if hives?? Confusion is the lack of itching. Confused

CP only itches towards the end when the scabs turn crusty (if they itch at all, only itched in 2 of 5 cases in our family).

Thanks again, fingers crossed for non itchy mild CP.

with cp you would expect the spots to turn into fluid-filled blisters, within about 24 hours. . They also tend to come in clusters, and in waves.
Lots of viruses cause rashes- think u will need to wait till tomorrow and see if the spots start to change.

Any progress OP? Ds's rash seems to have just disappeared, but dd has gone to bed feeling very ill, headachey and dizzy, and her spots are still there. I am wondering if it is chicken pox now because although the spots are still very small, some of them do seem to have a small head, and about 4 or 5 do seem to have scabbed over. I'm talking really quite minute spots though, so I don't know what to think. I'm torn on wether or not to take her to the doctors in the morning.

We have no idea what DS may be allergic to either if it is hives. Piriton didn't clear it up and he went to bed feeling quite poorly and losing his voice. I think a trip to the doctor tomorrow to find out will need to happen - hopefully they'll see us!

DH took her to gp today and he said it was a virus and not to worry as she was well though he advised against piriton as it makes them drowsy and it may disguise other symptoms if she starts to go down hill.

She is absolutely covered tonight, it is over every inch of her skin but although wider spread the actual rash hasn't changed.
