Projectile Vomiting

My 5wo has projectile vomiting, it isn't after every feed (although yesterday he only had about 5oz in the whole 24hr) and he is taking small amounts during the day but when he does vomit it is the whole feed.
We've been to the doctors today who has said it could be pyloric stenosis but unless he is vomiting after every feed then not to worry.
I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience of PS and what the prognosis is and if there are any other causes of projectile vomiting other than PS?
I never had this with my first DC so any advice and experience of this would be greatly appreciated!!
(Also, tips on cleaning vomit off walls and furniture would also be helpful!!)

I had pyloric stenosis, as did DS1, and it was like you describe to start with and then got worse. Eventually DS1 vomited blood because he had torn his oesophagus from vomiting so much. Even then, they dismissed the idea of pyloric stenosis until it was confirmed on ultrasound. He had an operation and has been fine ever since.

Everything,

I do not get your doc's laid back attitude. A 5 wk old is still very tiny and clearly, he is not getting enough nutrition or even fluids, based on 5oz in 24 hours. I would take him to A&E and insist he is seen by a paediatrician. He may need a drip and/or an op.

We have seen this doctor quite a lot recently (DD (2yo) had a rash, DS (5wo) had an infected cord so we saw him twice, then DD had something else) so I think he thinks im being a bit precious (I daren't go in today because DD has had a long term eye problem that has come up again)
I don't normally go this often to the doctors, if anything im actually reluctant to going and will normally go to the pharmacist first and ask what they think.
He has taken some today, if we give him little and often it stays down so im hopeful it won't come to anything serious
Thanks for your help!
