What's the rule on sending sick kids to school?

Dd has a cough, no temperature, just a nasty hacking cough. She's well in herself but looks exhausted.
If it was nursery she'd go, they'd call me if she was unhappy or developed a temperature. But with school I'm not sure what the rule is.

School is usually the same. She'll be fine but if she starts to get worse they should phone you.
