Anyone know what this could be? It isn't sunburn/windburn.

He first came out with it yday morning - 2 days before he had a blotchy mottley looking torso. He feels hot but temp is 37.2. He said it was itchy sometimes. Has been eating and drinking.

Really? With no other symptoms?

Is he ok to go to school tomorrow then?

'There is no benefit of not going to school (or work) if you have this infection as you are only infectious before you develop the rash.'

if he seems droopy or otherwise not himself then maybe keep him home but he should be ok to go Smile (don't you get August Bank Holiday in Scotland???)

does he seem ill though or just really hot? is 39 hotter than he normally gets with a bug?

has he had calpol? if he seems really poorly & Calpol alone won't control it, you can give ibuprofen alternately as well, but having a high temp alone isn't a problem in itself

Slapped cheek, viral infectionSad, plenty of fluids and rest, calpol for fever, get it checked out in any case.

Took him too ooh doc. Don't think its slpped cheek apparently cos it started on torso.

He has red throat and pink ears :(

My 11m old has only just got over a tummy bug and now she's bound to catch this - excellent.
