1yo DD bashed lip and gum - WWYD?

Hi all
My 1yo DD fell over today on a hard kitchen floor without putting her hands out and bit into her top lip, which was very swollen and bloody but has now calmed down. However, her gum above one front tooth has clearly been pushed back up the tooth iyswim and is very dark red, almost black underneath, about 5mm around the top of the tooth. Does this sound like just trauma to the gum, or could there be damage to the tooth? Would you see a doctor/dentist about this or just chalk it up to inevitable scrapes and tumbles (and a little bit of pfb syndrome...!)
Thanks in advance

I would probably see Gp if it's not gone down by tomorrow. Best to be on safe side:)

Gums and lips generally heal very well. Do you mean that the tooth is dark red or the gum?

DS fell quite a few times, one fall left him with a very wobbly tooth, deep cut in lip (almost went through) and bloody gums- he was back to normal within a week or so and in fact his paed didn't want to see him when I have described the state of him over the phone.

Hi both, thanks for your replies. The swelling has gone down a lot this morning, and the lip just looks bruised. The gum is still very dark red/black around the tooth (not on the tooth, sorry for confusion) but I guess this is bruising/ blood blister. The tooth isn't at all wobbly. I think I'll leave it for the weekend and go to the docs on Monday if it looks bad.
Thanks again!
