Could this be a food intolerance?

My 2 year old almost never has solid poos and often has nappy rash. We treat the rash with sudocreme and then it clears up but a day or so later it's back. Sometimes her poo is very runny and her bum so sore she cries when pooing and changing. I've thought about thrush but it doesn't look like that and that doesn't explain the runny poo thing.

Should I take her to the doctors? She's otherwise healthy and growing well.

I thought it might be something she's eating but it's hard to pinpoint the thing she doesn't have when she does do a normal poo.

My daughter was a bit like this around 12-18 months after I had stopped BF - in the end the nursery insisted I took her to the doctors because they thought she had food poisoning or something.

We kept a food diary of everything she ate for a few months and it turned out to be fresh cows milk (but not cheese, yoghurt, custard etc). Put her back on SMA for a while and gradually reintroduced cows milk 6 months later. She is fine with it now.

Hope she improves soon octopus whatever it is - poor little mite sad

sounds like dairy intolerance. my ds has this. he is ok with things with milk in but not milk on its own. we use 'oatly' with added calcium

Thanks, I'm going to make an appointment with the doctors. I feel awful that I haven't done anything before now.

She's now been tested so just waiting for the results. If it does turn out to be dairly intolerance I might be back on here asking some more questions.

One quick one though is do they grow out of this?
