My poor baby boy...

My 9 week old baby is suffering atm, he's had a cold which has now turned into a nasty rattley cough, now today he has lost his voice due to all the coughing, it's such a sad sound to hear him trying to cry, its obviously hurting him...

I am spending a lot of time in the steaming bathroom to clear his chest, and I've found he likes to be swaddled when its sleep time, I dont think there is anything else I can do, just after some sympathy/hand holding I guess.

I know that feeling well. My daughter has always suffered dreadfully with colds and chesty coughs.
You are doing the right thing.
This to will pass.

Tbh I would take a 9wo to the doctor to make sure there isn't anything else going on.

I agree with winny.

Also keep the head of his Moses basket/cot raised when sleeping

I second the humidifier, we had to get one for DD2, helps so much especially at night. Just make sure you air the bedroom out in the morning.

Hope your DS gets better very soon x.

I also think you should go to the doctors, in such a small baby colds can get complicated quite quickly.

Thanks for your messages, he's doing okay, feeding well now at least. His voice is still lost, he sounds so pathetic, I hope I hear him cry tonight!

My DP is a GP so he's checked him over, there is no infection so he's got to just ride it out, we have his naming ceremony on saturday, I hope he is recovered by then..
