Laryngomalacia and head stability

My 15 week old son was diagnosed with Laryngomalacia 9 weeks ago, he also has connected reflux. He has struggled to gain weight as a result and is currently only on the 25th centile, but on the 95th for his length! His head is still not very stable and he almost folds in half under his ribcage, he does have an indented chest at the moment due to the Laryngo, the docs have said this will go in time.
He has been reffered to a physio, although helpful they didn't really have a good idea about Laryngo.
Just wondered if anyone else with a child who has had Laryngo had similar problems?

Hi Smile

My dd2 has laryngomalacia (she's 4.5 now) and she did have an indent - though it wasn't apparent till later on, as far as I remember. Its pretty much gone now.

I don't, to be honest, remember when her head felt really stable - but I don't think my first dd's head was that stable at 15 weeks, and she is fine with no laryngomalacia! The reflux I do remember, vividly, and dd2 had problems on/off with weight gain - not as a small baby, but when she started solids and then again later on as her tonsils and adenoids got too big for her.

I'm not sure why laryngo would affect muscle tone, per se - it doesn't afaik? How severe do they think his larynx problems are?

Hi, the Docs have said that it is on the lower scale of Laryngo, although he is booked in for a Barium swallow, poor soul!
They have said that this to double check there isn't a problem with his Oesophagus(Excuse spelling!).
Having said that I am probably breaking all the weaning rules and have started him on baby rice at 15 weeks, to try and get some weight on him, he is so long and thin! Seems to be keeping it down and feeding better for it. Did you have any particular reflux probelms on an evening, he is fine during the day, reflux meds working. However when I try and give him his last feed, of which he would only take 2oz anyway, 9 out of 10 times he always brings it up?
