bad phlegm - can it cause diarrhoea in babies?

I have an 8 month old who has just started nursery and so has caught every cough and cold going!

He has had a bad cough for about 5 weeks - the doctor (who I've seen 3 times) says his chest is clear and he'll get better in time.

He vomited after his milk yesterday morning and after lunch. Today he was sent home from nursery having had 2 very loose nappies but no vomiting. He seems in general good spirits but is slightly off his food. Can phlegm cause this? He's also teething so I wonder if that's a cause.

hoping it's not another bug!

Yes it can. My ds had this a lot as a baby.

Yep, both swallowing phlegm and teething can both cause diarrhoea. Sorry he is suffering so. Hope he feels better soon.
