Does anyone recall the Enid Blyton book called "The adventures of the Wishing Chair". I read this book when I was at school and loved it. I seem to recall also a book based on the pixie called Chinky and I think it was called "Chinky and the Chair". Does anyone know if this is the correct title for it and whether you can still get the book, as I would like to buy it for my lo?

stilletoe - some info here. I do remember the books but only just! I think I preferred the Magic Faraway Tree and then the Famous Five.

Yes you can still get them. dd has a compendium of the 3 books - Adventures fo the Wishing Chair, The Wishing Chair Again and More Wishing Chair Stories - in hardback . Don't think recall one specifically about Chinky though

I'm sure you can. I bought a Faraway tree compendium for DD a while ago and ended up reading them all myself in one evening. (DD is only 2 so I suspect I had ulterior motives all along )

I loved the Magic Chair books and graduated to the Faraway Tree books. Have bought both for dd (who's now 9) and she's refused to read any of them. I am gutted!

Still. It means I can have a crafty read any time I like

My ds 6 adores these he's just demolished the last one. He loved the Faraway Tree ones and we just got 7 o'clock tales out of the library.

Amazon sell them in quite zingy covers we got 1 from there the other 2 2nd hand.

I got the old Pearl and somebody version of the Wishing Chair from ebay, dd loved the Faraway Tree but keeps refusing to read the WC.
We're on the Naughtiest Girl series now. I had completely forgotten reading these, but it's all coming back to me.

Aww, I loved all of these. We didn't have a tv [hard-done-by emoticon] so I read loads

My dd was given both the Faraway Tree hardback compendium and the Wishing Chair one as presents a few years back but refused to read them. She really isn't into fantasy and is now too old for them. I sold the Faraway Tree one on Amazon but still have the Wishing Tree (if I remember correctly!) if you are interested in buying a copy second hand but unread.
