what does Vbac mean?

i had a home birth with my second - it was lovely, (just not so 'hippy dippy' as this vid however! i just got going on the bed and never moved! i had a fabulous NHS midwife who was quite happy with home birthing.
still - am glad this lady got the birth she wanted.

liahgen I have resently come across (on FF) a woman that had a vba4c home birth. Her video in pictures is on youtube.

Vicar - VBAC means vaginal birth after caesarian section.

Good for her, having the birth she wanted. I can't imagine that a jacuzzi is a terribly clean place to give birth, though, they are full of bacteria and/or chemicals. Ick.

Whilst its nice that she finally got what she wanted, I do find it tiresome that people like this peddle the myth that hospitals and doctors are evil and that the only way to give birth is naturally at home.

I have stopped going to antenatal yoga because I just got a bit tired of the teacher inferring that if you talk to your baby regularly, are relaxed, have no stress and breathe properly then you will have a wonderful labour. I just felt for some of the 1st time mums there who actually believe this shit and then feel like a failure when they end up with a CS

I am lucky enough to have given birth naturally (but with plenty of pain relief) and hope to do so again, but there may be a reason why I cant, and every woman should be able to accept that every body and indeed every baby is different, and that as long as you and your baby are safe and well, then who cares how you got here!

No the high scar is indeed from the cs which they do like that in the states. Not every time I believe but some cons still do that.

She was beautiful even with the scar though I thought.

moss I don't agree that people are peddling a myth. This lady did indeed have a terrible time and was subjected to drugs that she should never have been given, so in this case, she has a point.

On the whole, no, the docs are not the devil incarnate, but I do see them trying to take over and medicalise things alot when there is no need, ie the MW has everything in control. Had it last week, itchy doc wanted to use instruments, very experienced mw was on top of things, baby born 10 mins later completely unassisted.

Also alot of ladies get alot of comfort from having some kind of focus, Ie talking to baby, breathing and all that goes with it. No, there isn't always a 100% pathway to a natural birth but if ladies are relaxed and positive, it is fact that they will labour more positively on the whole.

They would have cleaned it after the c/s and wraped before showing mum.
