I cant be sure of the reasons, but my step mum has had 4 c sections purely because she was overweight.

not sure but ive a friend who's had 2 c-sections,weighs about the same as you and was perfectly fine.have you had any extra pregnancy complications being overweight? im also very overweight and 38 wks pg but can honestly say i've enjoyed being pregnant and have had a perfect pregnancy(so far!!)and im really going to miss it.so it just goes to show that being overweight doesnt always mean problems.hope it all goes well for you.xx

I was over 19 stone, had an emergency section, and had no problems with it that could be attributed to my weight. There was never any mention that it could be any more dangerous for me than for someone of a "normal" weight.

Same here ikleminx, had my dd 4 months ago, am very overweight and c section was an emergency (but no one ever said this was linked to my weight) everything went well. I did feel it took me longer to get over it but that is the only problem I can think of. Hopefully someone who knows more about the medical detail will be along soon but in the meantime I hope all goes well and at least this will bump your thread up. All the best x
