OK, you're doing very well aren't you!

Oh God I've typed about 3 things and keep deleting them!

Could you call an ambulance to take you to 30 min away hosp? They will know the way t here and be on hand should things happen quickly.

Is this your first baby?

Could you go to the hospital grounds, then you could have a walk around but be nearby if you need to be?

I had a good friend who went to hospital at 8-9 cms, and she didn't enjoy the car journey.

I was induced with DD3, and once they broke my waters, I walked around the hospital grounds until about 1½ hours before she was born.

Are there any community midwives that can come to your house and assess you?

Agree with purplepurple call the closed hospital or does you community midwife have an out of hours mobile?
When I had my 2 I lived just over 20 miles from the hospital and they liked you to come in before the contractions got as close as your have just to make sure, if necessary they can sheck you over and let you know where you are labour wise.
Lou's suggestion is good as well becuase when you do get more uncomofortable the long car journey may not be comfortable for you.

I would ring the hospital. I was told once they are 5 minutes apart to go in.

Yeah 5 minutes was the timesscale I was given too but as we were pretty far away they told us to think about how we were feeling at 10 minutes apart.

Also it might all change. We are 30 miles from the hospital where I had DS1. I went in at 5 minutes apart and after 30 minutes of being there they went to 10 minutes apart.
