A few of my friends have been to the Lindo Wing and recommend it and I have a few lead for obs - i am thinking of Mr Miskry.

Just wondering, I haven't really heard of anyone using the private wing at Queen Chalotttes, and would love some feeback and consultatns recommended.

Thanks!

I'm not a private patient at QC as I am high risk and would be getting the same care even if I went private.

The private ward in QC is Stanley Clayton - costs around £400 a night for a room. I was in a single room on the NHS side last year for 3 weeks due to medical need - they cost about £200 a night but I got it free. The room was fine and clean with en-suite bathroom. The only difference to the rooms on the private side is that they have a fridge & tv. I believe there is a separate menu to the NHS side which is a good thing as the NHS food is not the best - think it's made in Hammersmith Hospital and then brought over and re-heated in microwaves in QC - not sure if the same happens on the private side.

As regards consultants, there are quite a few to recommend including Mr Kumar, Mr Wimalasundera and Mr McCarthy - think at least 2 of them have private practices outside of QC. Although I'm not a private patient, can't recommend it enough. Cx

Would second all that Carrie says, I too was a high risk NHS patient at QCCH at the tail end of 2005.

Have you considered the Kensington Wing at C&W - you'll find lots of recomendations on here if you do a search.
Happy to give you more info if you want.

I did not have a happy time at QC, but I was in the minority - others think it's fabulous - I was probably just unlucky. DS was born at the Portland - which was bliss.

thank you for your replies! I decided to stick with Lindo wing, just debating the consultants, but that is another thread!
