Just want to know when you took it from really and if it did work for you how quick it took to work? I know its about softening the cervix..

Weeeeeellllll, I am 5 days overdue and have been using EPO internally on and off for about 3 weeks and started taking them orally too about a week ago. Obviously it is not meant to put you into labour, but I had a VE today and can say with certainty that I am really "squidgy" and ripe. Just have to wait for baby's head to put a bit more pressure on the cervix, then it will be quick accoring to the midwife.

Good luck!

Yep! Started that at 36 weeks. I honestly have no idea if the RLT really works, but I have taken it with all 3 of my pregnancies. With ds1 I went 8 days over but only had a labour of 11.5 hours. With ds2 I went 2 days early in 89 minutes and like I said, so far I am 5 days late with this one.... OR today is my due date according to my dates rather than a scan.

I am really not sure that much of anything will encourage a baby out that isn't ready. Naturally, I try all the tricks in the book everytime, but they never seem to work and baby finally decides to arrive when I give in and accept defeat, lol!

rlt worked with ds1 but didnt know about epo then! Im 37 weeks and it sounds silly but i really want the baby to come over a w/e as dh works away mon-fri. I know the baby will come when its good and ready but just trying to work out things either NOT to do until nearer the w/e or ONLY do say on the fri night etc

Evening primrose oil. You can buy it just about anywhere in the vitamin aisle. I get mine from tesco as cheaper than health shop! Its bascially supposed to help your cervix soften etc. ITs because it is a good source of prostoglandins (sp) you can take orally aswell as erm internally. Most people on here seem to say pop one inside at night (pierce the capsule first) but all the research ive done into says its better absorbed orally and use the actual oil inside the capsule to rub on your cervix (if you can reach!! no idea what mine would feel like tbh!)

thanks ill give it a try, not sure bout finding my cervix i can barely get my hand round my bump to reach and dont think DP would be upto helping with that!! was thinking about trying caullophlum but sounds a bit scary, the health food shop wouldnt sell it to me without seeing a professional first so i might save that one till weekend if nothing happens before then!

i know! Wiping your own arse becomes a trick in itself doesnt it?! I tried the callu whatsit with ds1 and it didnt do anything and i still had a very quick intense birth...may be worth trying it when you have all your resources ready, like dh with you etc
