If my waters break while I'm in the bath...

...will I know? I bath, rather than shower, most days, and I usually have a good long soak, cup of tea & a read, so am worried I'll miss it!

They went while I was on the loo, but I thought I'd lost control of my bladder until I looked down!

I think you'll notice, even if you don't hear a pop or feel a contraction. There's a lot of water to come out, and it will carry on coming out when you get out of the bath. I suppose it's possible that you might not notice, but I'd have thought that was unlikely. Don't worry about it. Carry on enjoying your baths.

You will notice as they will continue to trickle until baby is born. You'll know it isn't pee as you won't be able to stop it.

Most don't go until labour starts so you probably have nothing to worry about

good job I was on the loo - I knew my pelvic floor was getting worse but didn't think it was that bad!

Mine popped but I was in bed at the time so nothing come out. But after the pop I heard and felt, like when you put on bottle upside down with a narrow neck and the liquid cant get out fast enough, sensation (if that makes any sense). When I stood up it all gushed then. Mine wasnt clear in colour, but dont know if that normal. Also quite a sweet smell. So if your bath feels warm, looks a different colour and you smell something and you carry on trickling when you get out, hopefully you should know.

My waters were broken artificially during my induction, but I think they'll be a bit warmer than bath water so you'd feel it like that I would have thought.

I think I noticed when mine went in the birth pool whilst in labour. You'll feel a rush of water if nothing else.
