What do i need to get in preparation for my homebirth??

What is the midwife going to bring? That can vary due to where you live.

Are you planning a dry land birth or water birth?

I am having the baby out of water, i am 25 wks and mw hasn't told me what she will be bringing yet but i would really like to get things sorted asap

You need a lamp for the mw to see everything. Preferably angle-poise. Also plastic sheeting to cover everything. I recomend (sp) B&Q value decorating sheets. THey are massive and cheap. I covered mine with old duvet covers I didn't want any more so I wasn't lying on plastic. You also need planty of old towels and my mw asked for a thermometer too, to make sure the room was warm enough when the baby was born.

That is all I can remember needing.

have a table free for the midwives to put all of their stuff.

And of course all the things ready for the baby.

Tea and biscuits for the midwives

Your antenatal notes

Max of 10 towels (all wash fine!)

1 enorm large cheapo plastic sheet from B&Q / material shower curtains (as non slip)

One hospital bag for you and baby just incase

Gym /birthing ball for you / other things you might find helpful(!)

Maternity pads for immediately post shower

Pack of pampers disposable changing mats to put under you to absorb bleeding pre-shower(unless midwives bring inco pads)

Paracetamol for after pains

Arnica 200cc (if you fancy)

Camera

Blanket / clothes for baby etc

Surface for midwives to write etc

Plastic bowl to be sick in just incase
