At what point were you offered an induction due to baby's weight?

I'm 5lbs at 32+2, I am not overweight or have GD etc.

Following this thread as I am in a similar situation! Or at least I think I might be. I was referred for a growth scan at my 30 week midwife appt. At 31+4 baby was estimated to be around 4lbs 6oz and I've since been referred to a consultant.

Tomorrow I will be 34 weeks and I have my consultant appointment when I will be 35+3. I'm going to hazard a guess that the consultant will be offering up any suggestions at that stage on what is the best course of action.

I too am not overweight nor do I have GD!

@S082018 I have a prior scheduled consultant app at 39 weeks but hoping it gets brought forward sooner. I know the scans are only an estimate but I dread to think what baby would be all the way!

Was induced with DS2 at 39+1 after a scan at 38+6 showed estimated weight of 9lb12oz and polyhydramnios (excess fluid). I can't remember what he was measuring at 32 weeks though. NICE guidelines are currently not to induce based on size alone unless really huge or other complications, so I was only induced because of the polyhydramnios on top of his size.

Do remember that scans do have a significant margin for error and they will want to base any decisions on the overall trend in baby's size, rather than a single point of measurement, so don't get too worried about it yet!

@SockQueen thank you for sharing your experiences, that's really good to know. Baby has jumped from 3lbs at 28 weeks to 5lbs at 32 weeks. We've got another scan booked for 36!

My last growth Scan was at 33+4 (now 36+2) and baby was est at 6lb 14...an induction as slightly been mentioned but apart from the odd comment nothing has been set in stone. They will also go with what you want. My Consultant asked me if I would want a spontaneous birth as I did with my other 2 so I think unless they have cause for concern they don't always offer induction x

@boymummy3 wow, what a fantastic weight. This is my first so I wasn't sure of the procedure, I'll see what they say in a few weeks then! X
