Stitches not dissolved 16 months on

Hi,
I gave birth to twins (one vaginal and one caesarean) 16.5 months ago. It was a very difficult birth involving forcep, tear and two transfusions. I’m now having gynae physio for fecal urgency and urinary stress incontinence.
My episiotomy and tear scar (tore beyond the cut) still has undissolved stitches and they are bugging me. Physio advises massaging them to help them dissolve but it’s not working. Has anyone had this to offer any advice? TIA xx

Surely after 16 months they can be cut out?
I work in a dental practice and the tissue in your mouth is similar to the tissue in your vagina and we remove dissolvable stitches after 10or so days as it’s healed enough and dissolvable stitches tend to become tight and irritating before they dissolve.

Ask to have them remove, there no way you haven’t healed in that amount of time :)
