How different is a second induction likely to be compared to first?

I was induced with DS1 at 40+10 and had quite a good experience. Only one lot of gel required and managed on gas and air. He was born 6 hours after the gel.

I am now 40+10 with DS2 and have booked for an induction on Thursday if he doesn't appear before then. Just wanted to know if people who had expereinced more than one induction found them similar experiences or not.

had inductions with both of mine too. Both were quite quick. dd1 had gel at about 7am and had her at 5pm. dd2 had pessary tablet at 3.30pm and had her at 11.52pm.

Both went really well and if i had chance again I would def go down the same route.

Both mine were fine and both very fast. No.2 was much easier to deal with which I did without pain relief. Ds2 arrived within 1hr 15mins.

Both mine induced at 39 weeks (due to high BP).
Both experiences v similar - only needed one lot of gel to get going (no drips or epidurals) and managed fine on gas and air.
DS was 8 hours of 'pushing' but DD was only about 4 hrs, so 2nd labour was shorter.
HTH and good luck.

I had ds1 after 4 1/2 hours labour and ds2 after 5 hours. I had two lots of gel for the first and one for the second. I found both fine and if [ it won't!!!!] were to happen again I wouldn't mind being induced again.

Thanks for the replies feeling more positive again now. Just spent today getting worried that it might be really bad this time so good to hear of positive experiences and he's still got tomorrow to put in an appearance on his own steam!!
