After ELCS: how long in recovery?

Booked to have an ELCS shortly. Once you’re out of the theatre after ELCS, how long do you need to stay in recovery room?

Do baby and DH stay with you in recovery? Keen to get to own room quickly afterwards for peace and privacy etc

I spent about an hour in recovery after both EMCS and ELCS before going back to the ward. DH and baby both stayed and I was breastfeeding/skin to skin with baby each time. Recovery was weirdly peaceful and the staff lovely though so don't worry too much about that bit Smile

Due to my BP bring low I was in there for four wonderful hours, screened off with a nurse, my H and skin to skin. Was amazing, a little bubble with just the annoyance of having BP taken regularly

I stayed in recovery for a few hours. My room had everyone else who was getting a planned section that morning. So there was about 3/4 of us. DH and baby stayed each time.

One time I didn’t get my own room at all, just another room of 4. One time I was put into the four bay room but got my own room the next day (was in for five days) and next one I got my own room straight away.

I was there about an hour. I was the only patient in there. DH and baby stayed with me. One of the nurses came and helped me get DS latched on. It was actually a really lovely time...then we went back to the hell of the postnatal ward and a 4 bed bay (I had a private room but most hospitals won’t let sections go straight back to a private room).

I didn't have an elective but 2x emergency ones, and I think the recovery area doubled as monitoring area. At any rate I was there the rest of the night the first time and all night the 2nd IIRC. Did get a nice bed bath the first time - really appreciated it. Baby was next to me in cot.

Just noticed weasel's post. I went to a private room directly from that area I think.
