First orgasm after childbirth

Hello all,

I gave birth to my son almost 4 weeks ago, it was forceps delivery and I had an episiotomy, 2nd degree tear and then also a labial tear. I have been pretty meticulous with the wounds and they've healed really well, they're still tender but healed. I've not had any incontinence issues so far - sneezing, coughing, laughing is fine.

Last night I let DH go down on me for the first time since having the baby, it was pleasurable but started to get sore so we stopped and I used my hand to finish. As I orgasmed I felt warm wet flow out of me. It was totally involuntary and I'd say it was about 1/2 cups worth. I'm not sure but I think I wet myself? I am really embarrassed. Is this a common thing? Should I see a doctor?

Also, since this I poked my finger inside to have a feel of everything and it kind of feels like the entrance to my vagina is blocked by something soft and bulgy, you can poke your finger in but you have to squeeze past this bulgy tissue - does that make sense? Is this normal, or should I be worried?

Thank you in advance - worried :(

I think I would give it a bit more time. You will definitely still be healing. I would mention it to the GP or midwife but I'm pretty sure they will say to wait and let it heal.

No you didn’t wet yourself as it’s not urine. You gushed and it’s normal for many women. Common for childbirth to change everything down there. I had the same as you after forceps delivery.

If you've not had incontinence at any other time it's unlikely that you wet yourself.

Give it until your 6 week check then get the GP to have a look, you may have a minor prolapse.

The spongy bit you felt at the front was your rectum, its quite normal to feel it with a full bowel after youve had a baby.

Not sure about the wetness but spongy bit sounds like a bladder prolapse. 4 weeks is very early days but when you are up for your post baby check up ask them to check for that especially since you had a forceps.

Birdlady if it was at the front it was definitely not the rectum, that would be at the back. More likely to be a slight bladder prolapse but it is very early days healing wise so don’t panic.

After an episiotomy everything feels mangled. Most likely the bulgy stuff is that.
I'd only be letting him down there once everything is fully healed and lochia has totally stopped. Any air getting inside can be fatal in postpartum mums. There are more germs in a mouth than anywhere else on your body, and you don't need that when you are healing. It's six weeks for a reason.

The 6 week thing is so old fashioned! Op don't worry about that.

4 weeks is early days. Do lots of pelvic floor exercises & discuss it at ur 6 week check, if u have one. Remember you won't be exactly as you used to be.
This kind of it as a new normal.

The six week thing isn't old fashioned at all. It is the time it takes to heal to a level where a mother can start to relax less. Birth is a massive thing on the body, and six weeks to allow a woman's genitals to rest and heal after not only pushing a baby out, but being sliced the whole way up, is nothing.
Aside that oral sex is incredibly risky. Mouths host more germs than genitals. So a big risk of infection. Plus if air gets into the recovering uterus where blood vessels are still open the mother can die.
So not really old fashioned at all.

6dc possibly it was 1992 last time I was advised to wait 6 weeks!

I had my first post childbirth orgasm about 3 or 4 weeks after, also clitoral as yours sounds, and I really felt the urge to wee. I had to try quite hard not to wet myself. Never happened before and reduced in subsequent sessions, I think it went away by maybe 10 weeks? I'd had a small tear but was well healed by then.

Agree to be careful too. PIV and oral can be risky at this stage, we stuck to manual stimulation and nothing internal at all.
