I’m booked in to have a sweep tomorrow, I’ll be 39+6. I’ve been having twinges all day so really hoping this kick starts something but I’ve not heard many success stories about them. Has anyone had one at term and then gone on to deliver the next day or am I living in a dreamland??

I had one at 41 weeks and had my baby less than 12 hours later- it can work if you’re ready!

Dd was due Christmas Eve. Midwife was a personal friend who checked up on me often at home. Several sweeps later and absolutely nothing.
Dd arrived New Year's Eve!!

I had one yesterday which was unfortunately unsuccessful. I'm overdue and have been having twinges so was very hopeful it would get things started. Hope you have better luck with yours!

I've gone into labour about 36 hours after a sweep twice. With each one I had a sweep on Sunday afternoon and woke up on Tuesday morning in labour. Both times my cervix was already favourable.

@bue The midwife said my cervix was favourable today, 1cm dilated and she could feel the baby’s head. Hopefully it happens in the next few days, I don’t particularly want a repeat sweep on Monday, it wasn’t pleasant!

I had one on Wednesday at 40 weeks (cervix central, 2cm dilated, could feel head) and nothing much happened. Had one this morning at 40+2 and had a bloody show 2 hours later. I’ve got another one booked for Monday, but I’m cramping and bouncing on my ball so really hoping things get started today/this weekend. I didn’t find them too bad, but then smears are not an issue for me so I think my cervix is quite accessible (!)

I had a couple but they weren’t successful - it gave me a good idea that labour wasn’t imminent as they will tell you how your cervix is (although I know it can change quickly) I even had some more during induction and they didn’t bring it on.

Hello. I went for a sweep and was told I was 5cms! Had been having twinge for a week.

That was at noon. My son was born at 4pm :)
