Hello everyone, early hours Thursday morning I was taken in for a emcs as baby decided he wanted to make his grand entrance but was still bum down! Anyway I’m home, have been now for 3 days and I’m starting to feel somewhat human again. The only thing I’m struggling with is getting up in a morning once I’ve been lay down, I say lay down I’m actually sleeping on the sofa propped up with pillows, cannot sleep upstairs at the moment which I don’t mind. And I’m also starting with a little cough which when I do try to do it hurts around my incision, anyone have any advise on doing these things easier? I’m not doing much around the house as dh as already strictly told me no! The only thing he wants me to do is rest when I can, pick baby up and feed him, make bottles and the odd brew lol. Don’t mind it too much feels great being waited on, I’m just dreading doing the school run again when his 2 weeks paternity ends as I will be pushing a double pram (have a 1 year old also) and it’s a 20 minute walk to school 20 minutes back so I’d be doing that 4 times a bloody day 😞. I think I’ve rambled lol any advise appreciated xxx

Apparently if you sit up to cough it doesn’t hurt as much xoxo

Coughing - Pillow over your tummy and sit up to do it. Don’t hold the cough in! I did and ended up on steroids and inhalers as I made myself very poorly.

Getting out of bed - if possible, tie something like a dressing gown cord to the end of the bed and use it like a rope to pull your self up gradually (you can actually buy something specific refereed to as a ladder I think)

Buy a c-section belt and get next day delivery. Makes things 1000 times less painful.
