Childbirth

Should I?

Should I buy myself something special after giving birth to our first baby last week?

It was a very traumatic and long birth followed by days in hospital

I'm still very weepy, and wondering if a little treat might do me some good.

If not be able to spend much more than around £50-60, but hoping that might get me a little bracelet maybe.

Am I being silly? If so, please talk me out of it

If you can afford it without getting into debt or spending money intended for essentials, then why not?

Hope you are recovering and that you have the support you need Flowers

Depends if you will associate it with being weepy or being proud at getting through the birth (congratulations). If the former, no, or at least not £60. If the latter, go for it, why not? You did good (I just wanted someone to shoot me in the head so I think that's worth a treat, don't you?!)

Lots of people do it, it's called a push present. Definitely well deserved!!!

I bought myself a Bloom & Wild 6 month subscription after having DD - having fresh flowers delivered every month cheers me up tremendously - and I decided that I was worth spoiling too Smile

I wouldn't for now, for two reasons. One it's easy to get 'stuck' around the time of the birth and I think if you have a bad dose of the baby blues you're better to gently move away from the birth rather than keep a reminder of it on your person. And two you really aren't yourself right now and might not like what you picked in a while's time.

That's just me though and if you think it would make you feel better then go for it. I think the money might benefit you if spent on getting out of the house for a couple of hours or something to make your life a bit easier.

A bloom and wild subscription sounds like great idea!

haveacupoftea you make a very god point.

8 days pp today and the first I've had a look through my discharge notes and that's put me in a teary mess, so maybe a reminder of it isn't healthy
