I had a crash section with DD1 for severe foetal distress. Have had two straightforward and quick home births with DD2 and DS. I also used Hypnobirthing and would recommend it.

I recently had a great VBAC - it came as a total surprise as the consultant wanted to book me in for an ELCS as I couldn't go over my due date nor be induced.

As it turned out DD2 was in a hurry and my waters started leaking 2 weeks before my due date. I went into hospital to get it checked out after 3 days (having thought it was a leaky bladder!) and was already 4cm. I was put on the drip to augment the labour as she needed to be born quickly due to the waters having been leaking for some time. DD2 was born 3.5 hours later without any pain relief and 5-10 min of pushing.

As you will likely have continuous monitoring my advice would be to stay as active as you can. I laboured standing up next to the drip / CTG and then got on all fours to deliver. I think keeping active made the pain a lot more bearable and also sped up the delivery.

I hope all goes well with your delivery!
