Baby in chin up up and LOP position... any tips?

Hello,

I'm 39+5, found out today that the baby is head back (chin up) and LOP. As a result the head has not engaged any further than 4 weeks ago (3/5).

Midwife mentioned an extended labour, shitballs.... She also suggested that swimming, raspberry leaf tablets and assuming the all fours position might help.

She also mentioned doing a sweep next week and induction the week after (keep thinking if the head is only 3/5 engaged how far up there is she going to need to go?? Eeek)

Any other advice out there? If you have not guessed already this is my first

xxxx

I can't advise on what to do regarding position. I would never be induced again but that's based purely on my own personal experience, plenty of people have a good birth experience with them.

The sweep is of the cervix though so doesn't matter where babys head is engaged. Also it can fully engage just as Labour begins so isnt necessarily an indicator things won't happen naturally for you.

Maybe the Spinning Babies exercises?

I did a lot of bouncing on birthing ball and making sure I didn't slouch back on the sofa etc to try to ensure that DS was positioned as well as poss (ie trying to use gravity as recommended on Spinning Babies etc). Had a short labour but no idea whether my efforts made any difference!
