Section scars and ingrown hairs

Bit embarrassing really but I am very dark and therefore hairy (chewbacca stylee) and get terrible ingrown hairs on my bikini line and apparently now my legs. It's the worst thing about my body and it's super embarrassing.

What are the chances of me getting one in my scar in a few weeks? How can I stop this from happening?

My hair grows back so quickly, I don't know what to do 😕

If I wax how long before should I do it? Or do I leave it and let them get the bic out on me?

I can't even see the bloody thing at the moment so it will either be dh (lucky, lucky man ) or I'll have to attempt it using a mirror.

I'm the same and wax regularly. I had a wax a few days before my section and no ingrown hairs... I think there is a higher risk of them from shaving!!!

Check with the hospital as I'm pretty sure they advise you not to so anything as shaving and waxing before a section increases the chance of infection. Happy to be corrected though.

Midwife said to shave but that sets off alarm bells in my head and goes against the leaflet I was given by the hospital.

Think I will wax a week before and just hope and pray it doesn't happen!

I had to shave but that was 15 years ago and I thought that was really old school thinking these days.

I had to shave. I'm chewbacca too OP and I didn't have anything horrible in my scar. In fact the scar was not as bad as I thought.

Another chewbacca here. I shaved the night before as per hospital's instructions. If the helps you, shaving was a lot easier than I expected (I couldn't see but it was fine!).

You only need to shave the top inch or so iirc.

I'm another hairy mummy and had midwife shave my bikini line about 5 mins before my EMCS. I wasn't prepared as wasn't in labour but that's another story.

Anyway I got a couple of ingrown hairs on my scar but as I have been left with no feeling on scar they haven't been too sore.

Chatter- you might find the feeling comes back over time. Mine took 5 years but it has come back now.

Mine is numb too. I find it really cool, like a patch of alien skin on my body. But I am a weirdo!

I had an EMCS last timr and no time for shaving. I got a few ingrown hair that got infected . they looked really ugly and the scar is more prominent in that area. Am gna wax the whole area this time around a week or so before due date.
