Hi,
My waters broke last night but contractions not really got going so I'm booked in for induction tomorrow morning. I had my heart set on a water birth. can anyone tell me if that's possible after induction?
Thanks

I'm booked in for induction on Thurs due to reduced movements and I've been told no Sad I really wanted a water birth too.

However I have read on other threads on here about women being allowed if they'd only had ARM or the pessary so maybe it's different at different hospitals

Good luck Flowers

I was told a water birth was off the cards as soon as I went to hospital for my induction.
My wise words would be to try not to think about your dream labour (whether being induced or not) and try and go with the flow. I had an early epidural in my induction and not a water birth. Still got my baby boy!!

In our hospital if you go into active labour with the pessary you can still use the midwife unit and possibly the pool. If it's a drip induction then generally no I'm afraid.

Yes it is, I was booked in for an induction but the sweep got things moving. I'd already asked for a water birth and they said that if there was a pool free I could have one.

It sounds like it depends on the hospital. Confused

Thanks for the responses. I was certain I wanted a water birth. Things got going of their own accord in the end. I was told I had to go to the hospital because of the time passed between waters going and contractions starting... but there wasn't time. I went to my local midwife unit, hoping for water, only to discover that they were busy and I had to give birth in a side room!
