I don't remember getting any after pains, or about being told about them. I'd check with gp or hv.

My worst ones did last weeks but not 10 weeks Shock you def need to go to the gp and get checked over. I wonder if you need a thorough scan to check your womb?

Have you been feeling unwell at all, temperature or anything like that?

I'd want a scan, not just my tummy feeling.

Mine lasted about ten days (baby no2) this time around , less and milder first time. Worse when feeding, I would definotely be asking for a scan to check all is ok as doesn't sound normal to be having after pains at this stage.

Hmm can't remember exactly but I'd say it was measured in days rather than weeks. Back to your GP?

How would you describe the pains? I will definitely check again with gp

I had what i thought were excruciating after pains two weeks pp. Dh almost called an ambulance but got me in with a gp urgently instead. I took a urine sample along which tested positive for infection.

Please do the same. If it's not retained products it could be a water infection..

After pains don't last 11 weeks.

The pain goes within an hour, andi only get them once or twice every month, i never had any pains until 4-5weeks after i had the baby

But afterpains are due to your uterus contracting back to its normal state which should be complete after a week, maybe two at a push.

I'd urge you to get checked out. When i had my water infection i had no other signs of infection - no temperature or anything - just the pains.

I can only speak for myself OP but I got after pains when bfing in the first few days. They were like really bad period cramps I suppose. I can't remember exactly how long they lasted but def less than an hour.

I'd say what you're describing sounds quite different - do get this checked out.

Also if you've had periods in the plural at 10 weeks pp I'm guessing you're formula feeding? I only mention that because breastfeeding makes the uterus contract quickly hence can lead to worse afterpains. So if you're in this level of pain and formula feeding, that's something that would worry me even more. Really not normal at this stage, I've ff both of mine and afterpains were very long gone by 10 weeks.

Thanks all, i think it's trapped wind and constipation. (Tmi) since having the baby i hardly let out wind or go to the toilet very often! Going to try some windeez tablets
