I know, I know, there'll be no doubt when it properly starts but still....
This is dd3 and I'm 38+3
Other 2 came about 39 wks.

Overnight and this morning I've had trickley watery stuff v runny and mucus which looks like the show. Can the show be watery or might my waters be leaking?

Period type cramps started early hours and have been every 10-15 mins for the last hour or so, not hugely painful or long.

My second labour started with these type of pains but ramped up v quickly, this doesn't seem to be.

We're an hour from the hospital in morning rush hour so anxious about leaving too late. Plus DH has an important meeting this afternoon at work, at the moment he's staying home (works about 2hrs from home, 1hr from hospital) but it will be v unfortunate if this all stops and he could have gone.
Gah! Hate not knowing how this day is going to pan out!

Don't really have any advice I'm afraid. my labours have also been very quick and obvious from the start, but didn't want to leave you unanswered. Is there anyone who can come to be with you if your DH goes in for his meeting? I'm also pg with DC 3 and am being babysat every day just in case! Good luck with everything.

Anything else happening, IWantDogger?
It is so hard to know, isn't it? It sounds like things are gearing up anyway.
Good luck!

Ho hum, still here at home, DH is not going in to work which I think is good. I think this is probably 'it' but it's just getting off to a slower start than dd2. Pains fizzled out after breakfast but are now about every 8 minutes and more painful when they come but not unbearable and don't last long.
At least morning rush hour is over!

Have a big fear of being sent home from hospital (plan to refuse because of distance...) and also big fear of travelling in agony/leaving it too late so it's a tough one to balance!

I had lots of false starts / 'is this it' moments with my 3rd. In the end there was no mistaking the real thing! I think if you need to ask, then it probably isn't it yet, but is definitely going to happen very soon!

Yes, I know you're right that when it's really established there's no doubt. Just worried that could sneak up on me like last time and don't want a hideous panicky journey!

Yes, especially with a third, they can come so fast.
Is there anyone you know nearer the hospital? that might enjoy having you there in labour? Grin
My friends all loved to be a bit part in the whole process.

Just a quick update to say yes it was 'it'.... Took all day to get to 3cm dilated with the stop and start mild contractions, went into hospital as my local midwife thought my waters had been leaking, then from 3cm dilated to baby being born took less than 2 hours! Perfect dd3, 6lb 7 x x x
