Are you sure it was pure witch hazel and not the stuff with alcohol in it? Pure stuff comes in a glass bottle from boots?

I was told to apply using a cotton wool pad. Never to leave it on so to speak.

Yeah just fab it on the cut with a piece of loo roll, doesn't seem to sting. I've been doing this since day 1 and I think things are healing (haven't actually been brave enough to look....!)
