Needing to pee every 15 mins. Is this a sign of labour?.

I had a sweep this morning and ever since have had lower stomach and back ache but no contractions. I have also gone from an average of 4 hours between pees to needing to go every 15 mins and I mean really needing to go. Has anyone else experienced this in the run up to labour?

I had this on Sunday & Monday just without the sweep had a false alarm Monday evening.
Not saying you'll have a false alarm, just that mine was, but I'm only 37wks so im not expecting the real thing yet

but it could well be the start of things is baby has moved down to sitting on your bladder. And the back ache is a good sign.

Thanks both. I had to pee 6 times in the night and need to again now but am too scared that I will wake my other kids who sleep rather lightly after 5am. I also have sciatic pain shooting down by leg but that is all symptom wise. I'm rather regretting the sweep really, it's just made me feel horrid but not bought on labour. I'm booked for another tomorrow but I am seriously considering cancelling.

Are you sure it's not your waters?

I don't think it's my waters because its bit leaking, I can hold it in until I get to the loo. Could that happen with waters? Previously my waters have been broken manually v late in labour so I'm not really sure what a leak would be like.

That should say " it's not leaking". Sorry.

I suddenly found I needed to pee every 10 mins and when I got back from the loo it felt like I hadn't even been. I was 9 days overdue. Turns out it was my waters breaking. Good luck! X

It's calmed down this morning so I think maybe my bladder was just irritated by the sweep. I have just lost my plus though but last time that happened a week before labour so I doubt it means much.

I had this earlier this week, plus loose bowel movements. Saw my consultant who thought I may be showing signs if labour . . . and now nothing!! 37 weeks with DC3, head is engaged. Feel so in limbo.

Consultant wants me in early next week (will be 38 weeks) for a sweep. Not had one before, how was it Artichook?

Hope you're ok!

I’m 37 weeks pregnant today, I was booked in this morning for a sweep due to a placenta defect meaning my baby needs to be born ASAP. I’ve had the sweep and I’m booked in to be induced on Friday ( 2 days time ). But since having the sweep, about 45 minutes later I noticed a small about of liquid leaking out of me, so I changed my underwear and put on a pad as I’ve had slight bleeding now too. I’ve had no cramping yet, but I have a constant urge to pee every 15 minutes. Could this have been my waters breaking or is it normal?
