Breech at 34 weeks. What should I start to do (given I have HUGE babies so need to get it moving before space runs out)?

This is my third pregnancy. My first two were always head down and positioning was never an issue. Size was though: 9lbs 4oz (born at 38 weeks) and 10lbs 2oz (born at 41 weeks).

I know the midwives say not to worry before 36 weeks but if the baby is the size of his sisters then he will have run out of space my then. So what should I try? I already walk everywhere and do pregnancy yoga.

Oh, and by-the-by, has anyone had a breech DC3 after never having breech issues before? The midwife said it is very rare and I am a little worried as to why it might be.

My 3rd was a breech at 34 weeks and I was told she was quite big for dates. I was to be reassessed at 36 weeks for CS at 38 weeks if not turned. Although it might have just been a fluke and she was going to turn herself anyway we tried the little toe reflexology point thingy hmm which I'm sure if you google you'll find out the technique etc and lo and behold she was the right way up at 36 weeks and I never felt any major turning. I was induced instead at 38 weeks and she was 8lb 6. Maybe worth a try - you need a willing slave helper cos if you're anything like me reaching your little toe will be an adventure to say the least grin! Good luck!

Check out and optimum fetal positioning. Lots of ideas on those sites.

Dd2 was breech at 34 weeks and still breech at 36 weeks. Somehow she managed to turn by 38 weeks when I was scanned by a consultant and she weighed 10lb 1oz when she was evicted at 41 weeks.

Dd was fairly big at 9lb4, she turned late after I froze her head with peas one day - was a horrible feeling CPA she was so squashed it took ages for her to wriggle and shuffle round!

My baba turned at 37, after I spent an entire day scrubbing my laminate floors x

Spinningbabies website is good, the exercises worked for me.

I had also booked myself in for Moxibustion, a type of accupuncture (no needles) as this has a 85% success rate compared to 25% manual turning (50% do turn, 50% of those that turn with manual turn back). I had heard great things about moxibustion, and a local NHS trust here has a clinic in the mat unit, and they no longer offer manual turning. As it happens, my baby turned a couple of days before my appointment (37 weeks), so I didn't get to go, but a pal of mine has just been at 38 weeks, and they have said they want to induce her as her baby is so big, and she is very small (only 5ft). Hers was breech with feet right down, and the hospital said the baby wouldn't turn, but did after moxibustion, so def worth looking into.

hope this helps

I had twins were both breech until 36 weeks from which point they both took turns spinning around. If the baby wants to move they will - space or no! smile
