Early labour but now slowed down...

Hello! Feeling very confused because I started having contractions yest evening at about 8pm, went to bed at 10 convinced they'd get stronger overnight (exactly how it went with previous 2 births). But it's now 5am and contractions haven't changed much - still about 10 mins or more apart and feel like tightenings plus period pain. Is there anything I should be doing to get things moving more? Am 40+1 btw.

Oh how exciting! Just stay calm and relax for the time being. I would also eat and drink tea and start to get excited. It can take a long time .....

This happened with my second. I started contraction at 9pm every 9 mins, went to bed convinced if be up in a couple of hours and off to hospital. Contractions stayed a similar strength and spacing until 8am! I was knackered but got up with DC1 only for them to stop. In dispair I sent DH to work. 90 mins after they stopped they started again and were a little stronger but they didn't get unbeatable until about 2pm. Delivery wasn't 'til 10pm.

All annoyingly slow. I hope yours speed up. I've got it all to look forward to again in 7 weeks.
