Does this sounds like my body's gearing up for labour??

So am 40+1 with my first and this is how the last couple of days have been:

Mon: woke up feeling 'off' & tired (despite having slept just as crap as usual!). Started getting sporadic lower back/front period-type cramps in the evening & a few painful ones overnight. By morning, nothing.

Tue: felt much better & full of beans. Occasional cramps during day & some more in evening. Woken by some quite painful crampy/sharp pains.

Today (wed): Feel a bit crap, got a sharp shooting/pulsing pain a bit higher up on RHS of back that literally made me go "oww oww oww oww!!" Then it (thankfully!) went.

It all seems a bit odd & stop-y start-y, but is this my body's pre-amble into proper labour??

Yes, I'd say so, but then it could be nothing, just the usual aches & pains of being so pregnant. I had zero warning signs with both labours, whereas friends had niggles for a while, only time will tell!

U3 I am getting EXACTLY the same thing at 39+5. Been going on for a couple of weeks but much more frequent and noticeable this week. It's frustrating not knowing isn't it!

I got all of these at some point but nothing happened with me I had to be induced. Hopefully something happens soon :)
