I think the mucus plug and bloody show are/can be 2 different things. I lost my mucus plug last Thursday and I'm showing no signs of going into labour yet (its my due date today) - it was completely clear like egg white but stretchy and there was more than you describe.

I had my 'show' with DC1 about 12 hours before my waters broke and he was born about 18 hours after that, but I do think it varies

afaik all it means is your body is preparing for labour, but how long it will be after that is anyone's guess! Best of luck, hopefully it won't be too long

I might be able to report back soon. Lost my mucus plug this afternoon. At first it was clear, but it kept coming away and definitely had browny pinky blood in it. Been having Braxton hicks all last night an on and off today so feel certain it can't be long.

AFAIK it can be weeks. Probably a lot more than you'#re expecting it to be too. I had a small show after a sweep (lot more than 20p piece size) and then when mw did something else (another sweep? can't remember was on hospital bed) she commented that I had just had a 'very large show' and dd was born a few hours later, was induced though.
