This is where mine went with DD, but I was in hospital, only way I knew was they hadn't gone when I was admitted, had a bath, then on next examination, they had gone. Now soon due DC2 and have bad SPD/PGP so having lots of baths and worried my waters will go in the bath, but how would I know if they did?? Have had show & stop-start pains/strong BHs so it's not out of the question....

When mine went I felt a distinct 'pop' sensation. I was, very helpfully, on the loo doing a wee at the time. Also they don't just go and then you're dry, they go and then you keep leaking, because your body keeps producing the amniotic fluid. So if you feel something like a pop or reduction in pressure, and then you get out and need to wear a pad because of a clear/pinkish discharge, that'll be it.

I felt nothing both times but as tortoise said it doesn't all go at once as every time I moved I lost another little bit- oh and the holding the wee ( if you can hold it then its not Am fluid) is rubbish as I was slowly loosing a cupful a time !!!
With DD1 it was a gush and then more loss for a further 2 hrs afterwards . With Dd2 it was small amounts over about 5 hrs - Good Luck

Mine went in the bath. I'd been having contractions at home for a few hours (quite strong) when they went. I didn't feel anything but actually saw the 'gush'. There was meconium in them so made it much more obvious to notice.

Most people will continue to loose fluid until the baby is born so if you feel that you are leeking after a bath, empty your bladder, put on a clean sanitary pad lay down for 20 mins or so, if you continue to leek once you are up and walking around then it is probably your waters, it is extrememly unusual to have so little water that you get a small gush and then nothing else.
