transverse at 34 weeks -how to avoid admittance whilst waiting for a section

Hi

any advice please for my sister.

She is 34 weeks pregnant and yesterday found out that the baby is transverse and unlikely to change owing to her weird womb Smile

She has been told that she will have to be admitted at 37 weeks for a section at no earlier than 39 weeks which has made her very anxious as she has a demanding 2 year old and doesn't want to leave him for that long.

Now I had a section in the same hosp 2 years ago at 39w 5d myself and I just wondered how she would go about getting the section at 37 or 38 weeks.

Any thoughts?

Policy here is 39 weeks too they won't do it any earlier unless there is a medical reason for early delivery.

She could ask why the need for a two week stay.

What are the risks/benefits?

What would they do if she went into labour- how soon to theatre. Could the same be acheived if she was to come straight in from home?
