The very first sign your going into labour?

Just trying to pass some time till DC4 arrive, wondering about everyone's experiences. I have very quick Labours, I thought the first sign I have got previously is a bloody show about 4 hours before any contractions.

But when sat thinking actually I normally get a burst of energy the day before followed or combined with a terrible temper Blush.

Anyone else?

Last time, DD went REALLY quiet and I spent the day before I went into labour in hospital hooked up to the CTG as she wasn't moving (until I got to hospital of course, how do the little sods know?!). The day before that I'd had the urge to crochet - went to Hobbycraft, bought the wool and a pattern and finished the blanket in 24 hours!

After your post... Am 38+6 and oh crap, had massive burst of cleaning on Wednesday (on hands and knees, scrubbing the kitchen floor, that level of mania), foul mood on Thursday, baby was really quiet yesterday and today.... Perhaps I should be expecting to wake at 6am tomorrow with my first contraction?! Grin

first time, almighty flip from baby (had been breech, and then wasnt!) followed by no movement from baby for a few hours and went to mw to be monitored, monitor picked up movement and contractions, neither of which i could feel, contractions made themselves known shortly after.

second time, bloody show about 4 am, woke up with contractions at 9am. i had been in the FOULEST mood from beyond hell the day before, total despair that i was never going to go into labour etc etc

am 40+3 also with dc4

yesterday got loads done, all the little bits and pieces and i wanted finished. The baby's pram carrycot finally arrived so got that set up. Generally felt good really positive.

Had a lovely meal out last night for our wedding anniversary, went to bed feeling really full and uncomfortable.

Woke an hour and half ago feeling a bit damp, think waters are going slowly, couldn't get back to sleep. So ive had a cuppa, and may do a bit of ironing myself and see how it goes!

I thought my first sign had been period pain feelings 10 minutes apart. Looking back it had actually been the back pain I'd experienced earlier in the day. I was on my feet a lot and had put it down to that but I think it was signs of early labour.

Good luck everyone Smile
